After nearly a decade, Lamette Comics’ GUIDA ILLUSTRATA AL FRASTUONO PIÙ ATROCE returns in a single, definitive volume produced by In Your Face Comix: 72 illustrators interpret 72 musicians in this new Remastered from the Original Tapes edition, includes bonus tracks.
The two original volumes from 2009 and 2010 — loosely inspired by the legendary and (almost) eponymous rock writings of Lester Bangs — are now compiled into one comprehensive omnibus, carefully overseen by long-time curators Simone Lucciola and Rocco Lombardi (Lamette), and enriched by dual prefaces by Luca Frazzi (Rumore, Bassa Fedeltà, Sottoterra) and Manuel Graziani (Rumore).
But the true cherry on top? The bonus tracks: expanded stories with extra pages never included in the first edition, along with brand new comics created for this release by a younger generation of artists. These additions spotlight musicians not featured in the original volumes, in keeping with the anarchic, irreverent spirit of the project.
This is a punk self-publishing endeavor, true to its roots — the first edition sold 2,000 copies through a grassroots network of comic artists and the Italian underground scene, gaining attention from national media (Rumore, Repubblica, Il Mucchio, Slowfood) and inspiring a wave of similar DIY publications.
