We stand for revolt, we want the Teké
Teké Gallery is located in the historic center of Carrara, Tuscany, Italy.
The gallery is regarded as a kind of short-circuit among galleries thanks to the relationships it manages to establish with artists.
The gallery’s main areas of interest are illustration, street art, comic art, and sculpture, all closely connected to underground culture.
The leading artists represented by Teké Gallery include Gianluca Lerici aka Professor Bad Trip, Igor Hofbauer, Jesse Jacobs, and Marco Filicio Marinangeli.
The Teké was a place of ambiguous nature and purpose: a tavern counter, two or three bottles of colorful liquors, and half-closed shutters. A place where people met to smoke hookah, chat, find paid love, and while away time with friends. A small, dark, smoky space where illegality mixed with entertainment; the bourgeoisie with the underworld. A way to spend evenings imported to Greece by immigrants expelled from Turkey after the 1922 catastrophe: a crossroads between East and West.
In our Teké, we invite you to rediscover the slow rhythms of life and the pleasure of listening together to songs of cursed love stories, ports, and suburban outskirts; of prisons, gypsies, passion for music, wine, and hookah, where rhythms of joy alternate with melodic tunes, and where it is possible to calmly and attentively observe works by the best talents of the international underground scene.

La Luce Rossa
Arriving from Argentina via a rather unhealthy carrier, the fetish of silkscreen printing bursts into flame. Unstoppable, it spreads within the gallery’s walls — at first it was just a small darkroom, a few hinges on the workbench holding timid frames made from a metal rod and a flip-flop.
But closed in his dark little room, Juan Carlos Allende stretched, gelled, and etched. And so, a carousel today, a squeegee tomorrow, La Luce Rossa Lab was born!
Since 2020, our workshop has been producing silkscreen prints on paper and fabrics: to hang, to leaf through, to wear! Every piece is made entirely by hand, in line with our fetish for analog printing. Each work is unique, carefully crafted step by step by hands decorated with ink stains, attentive eyes, patience, and tobacco!
Our prints come from collaborations with various artists who lend their graphics — each with its own story — to be printed in small runs (we proudly choose not to use machines) that we are excited to present to you!
