BIOGRAPHY
GU
Xenia Guscina a.k.a. GU was born in Saint Petersburg in 1990 into a family of artists, and moved to Italy in 1999.
She studied at the Art High School in Lucca and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sculpture in 2016. That same year, she approached the world of underground art, collaborating with Teké Gallery in Carrara and the screen printing studio La Luce Rossa, for which she created several graphic projects. In 2018, she discovered and became passionate about the art of mosaic. Traditionally considered a minor art form, mosaic became a challenge for Xenia. Her goal is to make mosaic an innovative art, blending graphic design and mosaic techniques. In 2021, she opened Armadillo Lab Mosaico in Piazza delle Erbe in Carrara. Her expressive media range from drawing to printmaking to mosaic.
