BIOGRAPHY
Gianluca Lerici
aka Prof. Bad Trip
The compelling artistic project of Gianluca Lerici unfolded, much like that of Pliny the Elder, right on the edge of an erupting volcano — perhaps while wearing red-and-blue 3D glasses, so as not to miss a single detail of the cataclysm underway.
The plan devised by this tenacious former mussel farmer from La Spezia reveals all its malice right from the choice of a scathing nom de plume — Bad Trip — whose meaning, for those unfamiliar with doped-up cultures, refers to the problems that can arise following a negative experience with lysergic acid; those situations where the traveler, instead of enjoying a sense of oceanic empathy with creation, accompanied by bodhisattvas, unicorns and rainbows, finds themselves hurled into a horrible, claustrophobic rave among malformed, stinking demons.
